COVID-19

Covid-19 is a new illness that can affect your lungs, airways and is caused by a virus called Corona Virus.

SYMPTONS OF CORONAVIRUS:

It can take up to 14 days for symptoms of corona-virus to appear. The main symptoms to look out for are:

  • A cough, this can be any kind of cough, not just dry
  • Shortness of breath
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Fever (high temperature, 38 degrees celcius or above), or chills.

If you develop symptoms, you will need to SELF ISOLATE and phone us at the surgery. DO NOT COME TO THE SURGERY AS IT INCREASES THE RISK OF SPREADING INFECTION.

PROTECT YOURSELF AND OTHERS FROM CORONAVIRUS:

Coronavirus is spread in sneeze or cough droplets. To infect you, it has to get from an infected person’s nose or mouth into your eyes, nose or mouth.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU RESTRICT YOUR MOVEMENTS AND AVOID CONTACT WITH OTHER PEOPLE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

FOUR BASIC STEPS TO PROTECT YOURSELF AND OTHERS:

WASH your hands well and often to avoid contamination

COVER your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing and bin the used tissue

AVOID touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands

CLEAN and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects
